Welcome to St. John's!

We believe in the gracious hospitality
of God’s Kingdom. All are welcome here.

Whether you are interested in visiting or searching for a church home, we’re glad that you found us. We hope you will find much at St. John's to nourish your heart, mind, and soul.

Reverend Sari Ateek has accepted the call to be our new rector!

We are delighted to announce that after extensive, prayerful discernment, the Vestry has chosen by consensus to call the Rev. Sari Ateek as the new rector of St. John’s. Bishop John Chane enthusiastically approved the call, and Sari accepted. Rev. Ateek is scheduled to begin serving as our rector on September 7, 2010.  He will officiate at the services on Renewal Sunday:  September 12, 2010.

Sari, his wife Tanory, and his two young children will move to our area from South Pasadena, California, where he has served as an associate rector at St. James’ Episcopal Church since 2006.

The Search Committee and Vestry look forward to new leadership at St. John’s as we welcome Sari to be our rector. He is deeply committed to helping his congregation discover and develop the gifts for ministry that God has already placed within each person.

Sari shares this message:

Dear St. John’s Parish,

I am thankful to God for the opportunity to serve you as your new rector. The past several months have been a time of prayer, discernment, and trust, and now it is exciting to see where God will take us together. I want to express my gratitude to both the Search Committee and the Vestry for a grace-filled and uplifting search process. I have caught a glimpse of how wonderful you all are and look forward to getting to know each of you. May God’s light and grace continue to guide us on this journey.

Stewardship Survey:
Where are your time & talents needed?

There is bound to be more than one thing you can do to be part of St. John's mission of "Building Community at the Crossroads of Faith & Life."
The Stewardship Committee has been working and surveying parishioners to match skills and interests to the groups at St. John's and in the community that need them. To see where your skills are needed, explore the links on the new Stewardship Page.

Sermons and Scripture

In the Episcopal Church, reading and interpreting the Scripture lie at the heart of our worship. At St. John's, sermons help us apply the Scripture to our daily lives.

Read sermons and the Scripture for upcoming services.
