The Opportunity Shop is sponsored by St. John's Episcopal Church, Norwood Parish, and is a consignment/thrift shop that offers the community many opportunities. You can purchase gently used items at reasonable prices. You can consign or donate your own gently used items. You can volunteer to help at the Shop by contacting one of the Managers. You can be a customer and purchase any of the items available for sale. Or, you can spread the word to others that we are here and have undiscovered treasures just waiting for the right owner.

The Shop is a pre-approved site for Montgomery County Public School students to earn student service learning (SSL) credits toward high school graduation. Contact Mary Chyun (opshop@stjohnsnorwood.org)to set up an orientation meeting and discuss a work schedule.

The all-volunteer staff works hard to keep this small business going, and the proceeds benefit various charities in the Montgomery County, Washington, DC area. A list of our current charitable recipients is posted in the Shop.

Op Talks

The Opportunity Shop is holding a series of informal 20-minute talks, free, by local artisans, historians, and shop owners on unique areas of their expertise. Look here for dates of up-coming events as they are scheduled.
