"Give them wisdom and devotion in the ordering of their common life, that each may be to the other a strength in need, a counselor in perplexity, a comfort in sorrow, and a companion in joy."
Book of Common Prayer, Celebration of Marriage

The simple dignity of St. John's church and chapel offer beautiful settings for a wedding ceremony. St. John's welcomes wedding parties of any size up to 400 guests. Marriage candidates do not need to be members of St. John's to request a wedding ceremony on its premises.

St. Mary's Chapel, which seats up to 50 guests, is ideal for couples who want their wedding to be an intimate experience. The church lounge and parish hall may available as sites for catered receptions. Catered receptions also have been held in the lovely memorial garden that is located outside the chapel doors.

Experienced Altar Guild volunteers are available to answer questions and to assist the wedding party during its wedding rehearsal and wedding ceremony. Flower arrangements may be ordered from St. John's Flower Guild, whose members are known for their knowledge and creativity. Music is provided by the Director of Music Ministries, who consults with wedding parties on musical selections.

The first step in planning a church wedding is to meet with one of our clergy. Simply call the church office (301-654- 7767) for an appointment. If you'd like to know what type of information the clergy and staff will need, please see our Marriage Intake Form .
